Marco Furia wins court matter at Downing Centre
On January 22 2026 Marco Furia self represented himself and was successfully found not guilty by District Court Magistrate.
One year earlier on January 27 2025, Marco was photographed and fined : Driver used mobile telephone when not permitted.
On January 22 2026, he self represented himself at the Downing Centre Local Court at a hearing. He was successfully found Not Guilty by the presiding magistrate.
The ticket was issued during double demerit point weekend. The fine was $410.00 and the loss of 10 demerit points. After 12 months Mr Furia’s case was finally heard at the Downing Centre were he was able to prove reasonable doubt in evidence presented by the Police.
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics 97% of defended criminal and traffic matters in NSW court cases result in a guilty verdict. However, “winning” a traffic case usually means avoiding a licence suspension, criminal record, or demerit points, rather than a total acquittal.
